Books for Young Readers

Ingrid is best known for her debut novel Savvy, which received a Newbery Honor in 2009, as well as her two companion novels, Scumble and Switch. Each book follows the adventures of a different member of an extended family gifted with unique abilities when they turn thirteen. A short story was added to the 10th Anniversary Edition of Savvy in 2019. For now, the Savvy series is complete, with no more Savvy books in the works. Ingrid has instead been working on an all new novel--a stand-alone fantasy.

Switch

a Beaumont Family book

Gypsy Beaumont has always been a whirly-twirly free spirit, so as her thirteenth birthday approaches, she hopes to get a magical ability that will let her fly, or dance up to the stars. Instead, she wakes up on her birthday with blurry vision . . . and starts seeing flashes of the future and past. But that's nothing compared to what's about to happen, when her savvy--and those of her other family members--suddenly switch to something new and different!
